I love these. I wish I had read the description ...I love these. I wish I had read the description better because I thought they turned off during the day. No, it's a continuous glow light. It's a nice, bright blue. I wanted something calming for my daughter's bedroom because I keep bumping into furniture and wanted a little light. If your infant is very sensitive to outside stimulus like mine, maybe get something less bright. My daughter sees these and thinks it's party time. They do light up an entire room. I keep it in the hallway outside of her room now and the bathroom. 4The worst part of the whole situation is that the people ...This was a package of two nightlights. One of the night lights did not work. It would flicker if you tapped on it, but would never stay on. I contacted the manufacturer- AmerTac. I spoke with Trish and Alex in the warranty department, both of whom were very unhelpful. They wanted me to ship the failed night light to them at my expense so that they could inspect it and then maybe they would send me a new one. This is a silly ploy to keep warranty cost down because the shipping alone costs more than the individual nightlight. Then factor in one's time and expense to properly package the product as well as bringing it to UPS, FedEx, OR USPS and it is rediculous to expect that someone would return a light valued $3.50. The worst part of the whole situation is that the people working in the warranty department at AmerTac (Trish and Alex) get much to excited about telling a customer "No." You know the type, the people that go on for 15 minutes telling a customer what they can't do instead of what they can do. I recommend that Amertac employ some "can do" people and they may also want to develope some policies that are a little more customer-centric. Since at the end of the day the customer is the one who writes their paycheckIn addition to this AmerTac has many quality control issues; lights not working at all (like mine), lights that fail prematurely, lights that overheat and burn houses down. Just do a google search and I am sure you will find all of these and more. From the way I was treated by AmerTac's warranty department, it seems as though AmerTac does not cares much about their online reputation or their customers. 1Great bathroom nightlight if it workedI bought two of these cuz they were perfect for the bathroom. Not too bright and the low blue color kept the bathroom visible enough to move around but not wake me up too much as I work the midnight shift and I keep everything dark during the day. HERE'S THE PROBLEM - for such acclaim about LED lights lasting years, decades even, why did these lights last less than two years each. That's right I actually bought 3 of these lights. The first two lasted less than two years each and the third one didn't work at all. I had to return it. Gotta love modern day business practices... I have and still use electronics built in the 1980s which have LEDs on them, never been replaced, fixed or repaired, and the little LED lights STILL WORK TILL THIS DAY!!! Any one who knows even the slightest engineering tech about light emitting diodes knows how these things literally last decades. Nowadays the consumer gets products like this one which are undoubtedly purposefully made to wear out prematurely forcing the consumer to keep consuming. Will we ever get the old days back were businesses actually took pride in their products...? Most likely not.... 1Don't expect great vision with this one...Our faithful old sensor night light in the bathroom finally gave up the ghost.It was time to look for another night light. Our cats both eat in the bathroom as well (long story short -tiny place, tiled floors make the best place to feed messy eaters), and want light before they willgo in and eat (even though they should have great night vision!).I bought this one, for the main feature of energy usage and not getting hot. (Our old light got very hotthere at the end.) Since I didn't want one I had to babysit, I thought this would be great.The value of the package here (at least when I bought it) was really good. You get TWO nightlights in the package.Both of mine were blue. they worked right out of the package, so no problems with that.HOWEVER - I need more light than this little thing puts out. It gives everything a blue hue, of course, which isfine, except it isn't bright enough to tell if you are missing the toilet seat, getting ready to step on something(like a cat), etc etc. I need something brighter. Apparently, the cats also want a brighter light, because I gethead-butted at weird hours to go flip on the light for them so they can eat! Wish I could train them to turn the lightsoff and on themselves.I could see these being just great in a hallway where you just need more of a guiding light.But for actual vision, this isn't the one. Nice product, fair pricing, looks very nice and the color is good, butthe actual light output just isn't enough to work for us. 4"Forever" Light dims then fails with worthless WarrantyThe "FOREVER" night light is OK, if FOREVER is 12 months or less. It may have been a defective batch from China but I purchased a two pack of these blue lights and 1. the lights were bright to start but only half as bright in about 6 months, then 2. both lights went out in about a year. They both light briefly when you start to insert them in an outlet but go out when fully inserted. My major concern is that they have an internal failure which could be a fire hazard. Like others have commented, contacting AmerTac is a waste of time. Amazon's site does NOT show the warranty info. Contacting AmerTac and you find out that their "forever lights" only have a 12 month warranty AND to be CONSIDERED for a warranty replacement you need to send the defective light back to them, with the receipt. They say that they will test the lights and THEY will determine IF they will send a replacement. This is now a $3 light, so the expense of packaging and shipping these defective lights to AmerTac to see IF they will honor the warranty is obviously not worth the effort or the cost. Amazon in now selling similar lights which are only on from dusk to dawn at a slightly higher price. I just hope that this new light is NOT also sold AmerTac, or Amerelle or whatever other name they are using now. 2Ideal NightlightBy far the BEST night with a larger cool blue light I've found. The beautiful bright light is very easy on my eyes in a seemingly soothing way while gently lighting a larger area. My kids love these as they can see the path to the bathroom at night but don't have to squint. The best part is that they are bright enough my son doesn't miss the seat and hit the floor! 5A bit dim, have to turn on and off manually, only 2 color optionsThese are pretty good lights. They are a little bit dim compared to another set of lights that I bought. These would be better if there was a sensor to detect light so I don't have to shut them off manually. Also, an option for red would be better since blue and green do not serve the eye very well to retain night vision, but red does. It is definitely worth it for the price though. It is a good product. 4low power consumption and last a long timeWe've had these for several months now and really like them. We just leave them plugged in and turned on most all of the time. We've got one just like this we got from a garage sale and it is less bright, but still makes a good nightlight in the bathroom. From what I can tell, these last for years and years. 5Degrades fastI bought a 2-pack of these 3 months ago.I liked the color so I bought another set last week.When I plugged the new ones in, I could see by comparison that the old ones were already down to about 25% of the brightness of the new ones.75% light loss in 3 months is pretty severe. I wasn't aware that LED's faded this way.For comparison, I have a 5" tall USB powered color-shifting snowman LED light that cost me less than $20 that's been running continuously for six years and is still lighting up the whole room at night.Update: I added a photo comparing the two (new and old) to the product page. 2WowHoly cow these things are bright! Replacing a set i've had in the hallways for many years. Thought blue might be muted. Had to move one to our guestroom off the hall instead as it was keeping hubby awake. Great to light the way at night instead of turning on all the lights and waking the house. Hope these last as long as the last set 5
