    I'm fine with them, husband hatesI'm happy enough with these. My husband hates them. The highlighting medium is actually a solid gel which you wipe onto your page. The gel doesn't bother me, but he says they mess up his paper. (he uses a ton of highlighter on every page). To me, I'd prefer to have these which don't evaporate over time, because I use highlighters infrequently enough that when I reach for one, the tip is often a sad, dried up piece of felt (the old kind). So the gel is my friend.3Better ProductExactly as described. The gel lasts longer than the off brand. These are more of a crayon consistency.5Highlighter crayonI like how you can count on it not running out of liquid, because it isn't a liquid! It still smears a little like any other highlighter. Usually rubs onto the page it touches when I open and close my notebook. It basically acts like a hybrid between highlighter and crayon.5NOT for precision highlightingAt first I thought these were great - solid stick, doesn't smear or smudge fresh ink, much like a really cool Crayon. But the tips are poorly designed, it's extremely difficult to highlight what you intend to without marking the wrong line or more than one line of text at a time. The tips are very odd-shaped and as it wears down becomes much larger and more blunt. Even fresh out of the box, it's nearly impossible to see what text the tip is landing on when you put it to the paper. If you're going to try to highlight any text smaller than 12 point, this is absolutely NOT the highlighter for you. Highlighting with these is the equivalent of performing surgery with a dull butter knife. Great idea, but the design is horrible.2Gel = No drying out!I purchased these for my Kindergarten class because my students have a terrible habit of leaving lids off of things... glue sticks, markers, highlighters... so I was very excited to find these gel highlighters! Gel may not be for everyone...Pro's -They do not dry out!The color is bright and covers on darker colors because it's gelCon's -Like a crayon, it can be difficult to be precise when the tip is an odd shape from use. Would give zero stars but have to give one.1Better option than regular highlightersI bought these highlighters because a co-worker of mine had one and I was amazed that it was wax-like. The other reviewers are right, you have to be careful and position it correctly in order to highlight it where you want to, but I always just use the sharper side. You also have to get used to the waxy smell. I bought it because I was tired of having to buy highlighters every 2 weeks because the regular highlighters dry out quickly. With these, I can just leave the cap off and quickly highlight what I need to, without having to worry about it being dried out or bleeding through paper. I've been using ONE highlighter for the past 3 weeks. I use it at work and school and I still haven't ran out. Worth the money.4Weird tipThe gel ink is good, but the tip is a rounded half-disk, so there's no flat surface to put on the paper. I'm sure this shape has its uses, but not for highlighting any but the smallest text.3The VERY BEST Highlighters in the Universe!I ve tried so many different highlighters throughout the years, and NOTHING comes even close to Sharpie s Gel Highlighters. I ve always been a visual learner, from school age on. I m wayyyyyyy past school age, but I am a reading fanatic, and I highlight the parts of books I feel have significance to me. And I also read the Bible, and if you do, you know how thin some Bible paper is. These gel highlighters will highlight what you want and not show through on the other side! You can lightly highlight or boldly highlight.And being an adult coloring enthusiast, I also found another use for these gel highlighters. I use them to color in bigger spaces on my coloring pages. The fluorescence really perks up a picture. And you don t have to worry that if you forget to put the cover back on, your highlighter will dry up. The gel goes on smoothly and seems a bit wet at first, but it dries shortly. And you don t have to wait until it dries to turn the page or keep on coloring.I m a big fan, and I heartily recommend these highlighters.5Perfect for Word Search PuzzlesThese gel highlighters don't run, don't smear or bleed through even the thinnest, cheapest ragsheet. I use them when I do word search puzzles. Nice neat easy-to-see yellow lines that don't obscure any letters by accident. Each highlighter lasts quite a long time. It's faster and much neater than circling words with a pen or pencil.5
