blades don't cut cleanly I used these for the first time today. The blades would grab some of the hair and pull rather than cut cleanly. I looked to see if there were notches/scratches in the edge and couldn't see any. However, this pair cut like an old pair of of kitchen shears rather than a brand new pair of barber scissors. 1Great for Manscaoping I bought these shears to trim my "down there" region and so far they have worked out great. I am in the middle of a home renovation project so I lost track of my normal nether region sculpting contraption so after an extremely stringent review process, I bought these guys. I typically trim the hedges about every other week or so but due to being displaced, I went closer to a month this time. I have been living with my girlfriend during this time frame and we both have been feeling inadequate due to the shrinking size of my love muscle so trimming back the forest, so to speak, has given us a much-needed boost of confidence. I really enjoy the shears and I hope they bring you as much joy as they have me. 5nope updated review:- bought to trim my ends for split hair prevention- had a few split ends here and there prior to cutting hair with this- initially didn't like the chemical smell of inner rubber- trimmed all ends- 5 days post trim I was horrified to discovered hundreds and hundreds of split endsThese are not professional-grade shear scissors.The reason why is is so essential to use profession hair scissors is because the hair follicle is very sensitive. If you cut your hair with anything less than a razor sharp edge you will fray the ends of your hair, leaving eventual split endsI am so sad! 1Great buy! I like how sharp these scissors are! I was a bit skeptical to order them because it seemed a bit cheap, but my expectations were exceeded! I mainly use them to deal with my split ends and these scissors get the job done! I bought other Barber Scissors from big box stores - never happy (awkward to use). I have used these about 8 times & they are great. I am a senior male with arthritis in hands. Scissors are total length of 6 inches & cutting blade surface of 2 1/2 inches. Precision cutting (squeeze handle it cuts). Balanced for easy control. I highly recommend these plus they are a GREAT price. 5So far so good Not sure what I can say. Not expensive pair of scissors to replace the kitchen shears I've been using to cut my bangs. These work way better. I'm just a woman cutting my own bangs. Not a pro. So I can't rate these for professional use. I'm guessing that hairdressers have way stricter requirements and needs (comfort while holding, spacing between fingers, sharpness of edges and and tips, etc.) 4Good Scissors These scissors are sharp and fairly easy to use. I went with 4 stars for two reasons. One the holes for your fingers are narrow. I have a hard time getting my fingers into the holes and out. I do not have big fingers either. The other issue is that I thought I was getting stainless steel scissors. Theses are not completely stainless steel. I have had some rust issues with them. I'm not a barber so they are good enough to do what I need them for. 4would not recommend I bought these to trim my own hair, and I do not recommend. Blades become dull after only a few uses. When cutting they get stuck together and jam. 1
