    Holds Kerrygold Butter, Family Cannot Break It And Looks Nice!I love crystal butter dishes. They are so pretty on the table. I have a son and a husband. We've gone through 4 crystal butter dishes in about 6 years. This one is pretty, this one will not break when they drop it. It will not chip in the sink. AND AND AND it holds that Irish butter "Kerrygold" which is twice as wide as "normal" sticks of butter. So I love this and even if somebody invented an unbreakable crystal, because of the Kerrygold, I would not switch back. 5Cheap Stamped MetalFrom a distance it looks nice, but it is cheap stamped metal with sharp edges. Super lightweight, low quality. You would immediately NOT purchase this if you were buying in a retail store and could physically pick it up and examine. 1Nice Style and nice lidLove it. I had a glass one before but it had no knob on top and my hands when oily would slip off the glass. I finally replaced it with this stainless steel butter dish. Since I use Kerry Gold Butter, it fits perfectly in the butter dish. NO aluminum for me. Only stainless steel or glass. 5Would definitely buy again!Bought as a gift for my mother, since I accidentally broke her plastic one. This thing is a little more expensive than the typical $4 plastic ones, but it will last forever-even if you drop it on the floor! BONUS - The stainless steel dish holds 2 sticks of butter and it keeps the butter cool for longer when left out. However, It has one serious design flaw! All four edges of the tray slope up and outward at about a 45 degree angle. When you cut a slice of butter (cold or soft) it tends to cause the stick of butter to slide up the ends of the tray. When you pick it up out of the refrigerator sometimes the lid will slip up the sides. The sides of the tray should be 90 degrees to the base and all issues would be solved. If it were not for this design flaw I would give 5 stars. I will look for a cheap plastic replacement at Wal-Mart. 3Cant believe i have lived without itThis little butter dish is a great little butter holder. This is a very simple, but effective way to store your butter. I like to keep mine on the counter top to keep the butter soft and spreadable. some have stated that it takes finger prints easy. I could see how, but i havn't had this very advoidable "problem". If you use the lifting handle, and dont just grab where ever all over with your dirty hands, then you should NOT have finger prints all over it. You can place multiple sticks into the dish, or a one pound cake/brick. I may need to order another for cream cheese. 5Great dish but will slice your skin.I purchased this butter dish from another site a few months ago and liked it so much that I ordered another from Amazon. It looks a lot better than most plastic dishes on the counter and table. It holds two sticks of butter easily and the lid fits well. So far it hasn't rusted. One warning: Please be careful how you pick it up. I have sustained two deep cuts from the edges of the dish part. One was when I was moving it on the counter and one when I was washing it. If the long edge slides against your skin it will cut - much like a paper cut. Other than that I recommend it highly. 4Just As Described - OK For NowAs some others said, this butter dish is thin, cheap-stamped metal with a rather sharp edge and it does pick up fingerprints. I would have preferred something heavier, maybe a wooden base with metal lid. Since no such thing can be found for $9, this will do.After looking at all the options, I bought this one for what it DOESN'T have:1) Slick, convex sides with no handle - guaranteed to drop the lid IF you can even lift it.2) Glass or ceramic - even with a handle, still bound to get dropped and broken eventually.3) Plastic with snap-on lid - won't break until you squeeze the sides to release the "snap", then the sides of the lid crack. That's what happened with the last one (after the glass one broke).4) Overdecorated things with handles shaped like flowers or birds or whatever. I don't want it for the "collectibles" shelf, I need to keep food in it!5) Silly-money prices -- $45 and up for a BUTTER DISH???!!! Or $5 with $35 shipping? No thanks.This one holds 3/4 of a 1-pound block of butter if you cut 1/4 off the end. I thought of cutting the block in half lengthwise, but it's too long. I guess they mean the long skinny sticks when they say this dish will hold two. So it's not quite as practical as it could be, but it's not huge and clunky either.It's okay. I'll still check the thrift stores for one like my neighbor's mom had in 1975, though. :-) 3DisappointedI just started using this butter dish, and I realize the butter dish is not STAINLESS STEEL like it says. I wish I would of opened it when I received it. I would of sent it back. But a lesson learned. It is very very cheap made. So be aware of false advertisement. I did not even want to give it one star, but could not summit without giving a star 1One StarCheaply made. The thinnest stainless steel I ve ever seen. 1
