This is THE ONLY CAN YOU SHOULD BUY I am an engineer and over analyze everything. When we had our first child, I was the new dad that dreaded poop. Luckily I have overcome that fear. However, we had several different "stink-free" cans and I threw all the others in the trash. The other brands just suck. We had this one brand where the circular lid slides along the horizontal plane of the lid...when it was nearing full, the diapers would essentially hit the d*** lid and smear poop on the backside, putting poop where it can't physically be cleaned. This sucker though, well thought out, easy to change the bag. I highly recommend the version with the step to open. The other one with the manual lid is a bit shorter and when you get poop everywhere, you will need to open the lid with your poopy hands, thus getting poop on the lid.ALSO, if you subscribe to the bags on Amazon, its by far the cheapest you will be able to find them. I have found that a box of 20 will last us about a 2 months - kids are at day care, so most of the filling happens on the weekends. I have no preference between the donut bags and the preformed bags with the plastic clip, though I think the donut bags might be cheaper. I enjoy the convenience of the preformed bags and I'm too lazy to figure out how to change my Amazon subscription.This sucker significantly reduces the stink. Remember, there is little way to totally eliminate it the stink, but this is by far the best I have experienced and it is dang close to eliminating it completely. If you are a parent to be, this is your diaper can. If you don't buy this, then just buy a regular old trash can with the step to open feature and save your money. Do not buy any of the other pricey diaper pails! 5Use your own kitchen bags and save tons of money, these are overpriced. Shameful and greedy price ramp up for these bags. Have you noticed how Munchkin Diaper pail bags are ridiculous expensive and/or hard to find lately? They're about $1 a bag, that's ridiculous! Well, their greed backfired in my case because I worked out a way to use regular garbage bags. They work even better because they can be scented and are nearly double the size!1: Take an original munchkin bag and tear the bag off the blue ring. All we want is that blue ring, you can throw the bag away.2: Push a garbage bag (tall kitchen bags work well) through the pail rubber slot at top.3: Slide the blue ring (from the original munchkin bag) over the top of your garbage bag.4: Wrap the top of the garbage bag OVER and UNDER the blue ring (to completely encase it) and pop the blue ring into the nubs like you would normally (only this time you have a garbage bag over the top instead of the ring being expose).5: That's it! When you close the lid, the blue ring will hold the bag in place as the gears spin in to seal off the smelly air. To empty the bag just open the side door like normal and pull the bag out, separating it from the blue ring. Keep the blue ring for the next garbage bag and repeat!Tall kitchen bags are about a nickel each, and since they hold twice as much this means they cost FORTY TIMES less than the munchkin bags right now. We used to go through 15 bags a month, the savings will really add up. 1Complete junk!! The other reviews are correct- ever since Munchkin Arm & Hammer decreased their box size to 20 (charging us more per bag) and revamped their bag design, these things are worthless. Never once in the years that I used the old style of bag did one of them rip. This new style? EVERY FREAKEN BAG RIPS!! Leaving you with a pail of sh!tty diapers. So why not just use a regular trash bin?? I will be switching to the Diaper Genie system. 1Ring refills are better The regular Munchkin Refill Rings are much better. I guess these save you from having to cut and re-tie your bag, but the snap-closure system is actually a lot more trouble: you have to open the inner lid, snap the ring closed, twist and drop it through, then open the main door and pull it out. It's about as much trouble as putting in a new ring, but you have to do it 9 times as often. And the snap system is not as good at containing odor as a simple knot.Cons: - More expensive - More wasteful - More trouble to change - More odorPros: - Nothing; get the ring refills instead 1and I do not like them as well These seem to have taken the place of the blue snap diaper pail bags, and I do not like them as well. They are thinner plastic than the blue ones, and they are scented with lavender. It's not terribly overpowering, but I really wish they were still unscented. I have no asthma/allergy issues personally, but I could see the scent as a potential problem for some.However, there are a lot of things that I like about this bag and pail system. It's very easy to use, keeps the smell in very well, and there are not a bunch of individual bags like some pails, so there is no set number of diapers that you can fit in each bag. You can cram the bag quite full before you have to change it.In short, it will do the trick well if you don't mind the scent, but it would be so great if Munchkin could make another unscented version. 3Provide an excellent incentive to potty train . . . Pro: These bags provide an excellent incentive to potty train your child, stat. And, they fit the old Munchkin Snap and Seal pails.Con: Basically, everything else.First off, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the blue snap and toss refills. We have been using them through 2 kids for almost 5 years total. I can't for the life of me imagine why Munchkin discontinued them. These do fit the older snap and toss pails, but these smell. They smell bad, like a fake lavender-y smell that I will now forever associate with diapers. Why on earth you'd put scented bags in a dispenser with baking soda (which is designed to eliminate smells!) is beyond me. We have also had one out of 3 break, which almost never happened with the blue ones. I think we went years without breaking one. We don't overfill them. They're usually only about half full when we change them. 2Work in my older pail I got a year supply of bags when I got my diaper pail so when they ran out I was pretty shocked at how hard to find they were. I guess my munchkin pail is older, we used to have the blue bags. I had a hard time at the price for so few bags but these were the best deal. The fit perfect and do the job fine. I got some of the munchkin travel bags similar to what you use for the dog aND have started putting wet diapers in those and going straight to outside trash and using these bags for dirty ones. That makes each bag last longer without compromising my family's noses, haha. 4YES, these work with the original Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail YES, these work with the original Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail. They are the exact same as the blue liners but are now orange with a light lavender scent. 5Reliable and Durable I have the Munchkin Arm and Hammer diaper pail from about two years ago and would order the arm and hammer diaper pail bags that were originally blue. I searched Amazon to buy again, but instead these orange bags kept showing up instead of the blue. I was worried they stopped making the type of refill bags that I need, but I ordered these since the description said they would work on my diaper pail. Very happy when they arrived to see that they fit like a glove, just like the blue bags! 5Nope Update October 2017: My most recent order has provided several bags which have torn at the connecting spot between bag and closure, very disappointing. Not only do they smell weird but they are not nearly as well made as the former (blue) style. I still have some blue bags left and the quality difference is remarkable- I can *feel* the difference between the two. So I change my review to not so great from earlier 2
