A Fabulous Coffee Grinder For A Lot Less $$ Than A Burr-style This grinder really works well.I make Arabic coffee (not the same as Turkish) and the beans are roasted to a light yellow. This means they are still hard as small rocks that burr grinders have a very difficult time turning into the sandy powder I require. Other grinders, similar to this, have not been able to get to the consistency I need. I believe that was due to blade sharpness and rotation speed.The Mr. Coffee grinder works very well for my purposes and can certainly product the results you'll need for regular roast beans from light roasts to dark espressos and for a lot less money.I highly recommend this product. 5Good for the price I have a hand grinder that produces a very uniform grind. This item does not produce a uniform grind, as many pieces are very large unless you grind down to a very fine consistency. I do not mind using the manual grinder, but my wife hates having to grind by hand. She wanted a cheap electric grinder, and this item fit the bill. I cannot tell a huge difference in taste between this grinder and the hand grinder. Using this grinder and higher quality coffee beans definitely beats the stuff that comes from big box stores.The grinder is functional and cheap, but look elsewhere if you are a coffee snob that needs a very uniform grind. 34+ Years and Grinding Strong I purchased this grinder February 1, 2012 on Amazon. It has been grinding away for 4 years 10 months. It has known only coffee beans and no issues. I have never had an issue with the bean volume either. I fill it to where beans might start to tumble out and then I cap it. The longer the grind the finer the coffee gets. So, the blades seem to work just as well as on day one near as I can tell. I do a 9 one-thousand count in my head and get consistent results. It cleans easy enough. I just wipe it out with a moist paper towel from time to time. If it were to break tomorrow I would buy it again knowing I'd likely get five more years. 5Works, but not the easiest to clean. This little grinder does the job... but is a pain to clean and only does a small amount. It works for my purposes, but I wouldn't want to grind a 1-cup full of beans. You have to grind a dozen beans at a time and them empty. It isn't easy to clean, so it becomes cumbersome if you use it a lot. 3Simple design that works great I have gone back to this basic grinder because it works so much better than two other more expensive machines I have bought in the last couple of years. The unit is small so it doesn't take up much space but works great. After grinding, flip to fill the cover with beans and use the cover to transport to the coffee maker. 5(Was) My favorite grinder design! This has been by far my favorite grinder. My last one died after 11 years of daily use, and finding a local replacement was tough--Amazon comes through again! Pros: This will grind a full 12-cup pot's worth in one fill, as fine as you like, with a nice deep cup so no overflow all over the counter. Plus, the round shape makes it easy to get those stubborn clumps of oily dark roast all out. Just a great design. And did I mention my last one lasted 11 years?Update: this one died in less than 3 months. Rating revised. 2perfect for quick grinding herbs bought for grinding herbs, which it is excellent for. few pulses, and can reduce whole dried herbs into powder for rubs within seconds. yay!however, not sure this would be a good plan for coffee beans, because it is a pulse type grinder - only grinds when you push down, keeps going as long as the 'button lid' is pushed down, and has no settings for amount/type of grind... so grinding is completely by eye/best judgement - not consistent measurable settings. considering types of brews DEPEND on the consistency of the bean grind, i can not, in good conscious, suggest this item for coffee grinding. 4Great! After seeing several coffee grinders I chose this one. I am very satisfied. it is very easy to use and can grind thin or coarse coffee. I clean it immediately after use, anyway, just follow the manual that comes with the grinder. Very good grinder. 5Great grinder! I've always hated blending things, because of how loud it is. This coffee grinder is very quiet and is very easy to use. It crushes beans very well and you have the option of crushing it for however long you want, and it's easy to get the coarseness that you want from your beans. You can easily make single cup coffee or even 2 cups of coffee using this grinder. My only one complaint about this is that the grinds sometimes get stuck behind the blades (which aren't sharp - so you can run your finger around it), and it is very difficult to clean. 4DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME Bought online and used probably less than 10 times until it died and felt hot. Called company and they were very nice and sent a new one for free. I have suspect they know these are defective and that's why they sent a replacement so quickly with no proof of purchase. Unfortunately, the 2nd one died the first time I used it and started smoking. I'm not going to bother to call and sit on hold again. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY/TIME 1
