Customer Reviews

AWESOME product...especially for children/teens with autismAs a mom to 13 year old twins with severe autism these are fantastic. Our one twin is the equivalent of Dennis the Menace and has managed to get into things on more than one occasion. These have been a lifesaver so far. He has not figured out how to get these off of the door nor has he figured out how to maneuver them to get into his closet. I HIGHLY recommend these Slide-Lok Bi-Fold door locks.5Great, but shorter users may have problems I purchased a few of these because our cats have a habit of opening our closet doors and knocking our stuff off the shelves to make room to lay down. After trying unsuccessfully to tie the doors together with cord (anything we could easily untie they figured out) I ordered these. There is a little rod that hangs from the main part of the lock so shorter adults can slide it, but at least on our doors the lock would not slide with the rod at all. No problem for my wife and I (both 5'9"ish) as we can both reach the tops of our closet doors but a shorter person might have some trouble. In the end, they do keep the cats out of the closets (so they should work well for kids too). 3This locks works 100% of the timeI love this! My cats figured out how to open my bi-fold door that separates the cats from my kitchen. I flipped the door around so when they pressed on the center it wouldn't fold in and open. Well my cats just took this as a challenge and learned that by continually pressing on the side of the bi-fold door now will make it open. At my wits end I searched Amazon for a bi-fold door lock and found this gadget. It is a miracle worker. My cats have tried and tried and tried to get into the kitchen but this little lock keeps them out. Whoever made this is a genius.5Worked for stubborn cats!We have 4 cats who have their own room (helps keep them contained when there's visitors, and keeps them off furniture when we go to bed or can't watch them). Their closet (where we keep their food, cleaning supplies, and carriers) doors are the bifold double doors... We tried installing a sliding bolt, they still found a way to open it...we added heavy brass doorstops under each door. It too a month, but they found out how to move them... then we added 10lb kettlebells in front of each door. I still have no idea how the cats ranging 8-12 lbs were able to move a10 lb kettlebell... Nothing could keep these 4 determined kitties from opening their doors and wreaking havoc in their closet.I found these on Amazon and decided to give them a try... they actually work! No more over turned food bowls and buckets; no more messes because the cats ate an entire package of food and couldn't hold it! No more confetti paper towel rolls all over their room! No more chewed packages of cat treats that I find pieces of for months after! These slide things work!5Heaven-sentThis worked wonders for us. My only complaint is that I didn t realize each package only contained one. Since no-fold doors typically come in pairs of two from my experience, I assumed the locks would come in pairs of twos as well. The instructions aren t great either... took me way longer than it should have to sort it out....Regardless, I m so happy to have something that works to keep my kiddo from getting into his closet at night... I just don t even care about the count confusion.Thank you SO much!5Serves Its Purpose I bought this to keep my 1 year old from opening the pantry door. This is simple but works great. One thing to keep in mind though is the thickness of your doors. This lock was a very tight fit on my doors. So much so that I was not able to use the stick/handle that comes with the lock...it is too flimsy to be able to move the lock with such a tight fit. This was not an issue for me since I am able to reach the lock to use the lip to slide to lock/unlock, but something to keep in mind. 5Why didn't I get one of these sooner?!It's so simple, yet works so well! We have cats who have figured out how to open our bi-fold pantry door. Their cat food bag is stored in there, and access to the pantry always leads to a torn bag and a HUGE mess. We had "remedied" the problem by keeping a gallon jug of windshield wiper fluid right in front of the fold. We just had to push it out of the way when we needed to get into the pantry, step over or around it when putting away groceries, and remember to put it back right up against the door when we were done. The few times we failed to put the jug back right against the fold, we awoke to a colossal mess of cat food spread all throughout the house. The time came when we needed to refill the washer fluid in our car, and we realized the jug was light enough to be easily moved by a determined feline. Only then did I decide to do a little research on bi-fold door locks. Could it really be that simple? YES! Putting it on the door was a snap. I used the insert to make it a little tighter fit, but put the insert so that the thickest part of it would be outside the plastic piece. Flipping it the other way made it too tight to slide back and forth easily. The way I see it, you have three options for fit if you allow for flipping the insert. I'm 5'5", and the little wand thing hangs down a decent length, so I don't feel like I'm reaching clear up anytime I need to get in the pantry. I've read reviews that claim children have been able to wiggle the door and knock the lock loose. Well, I have four VERY determined cats. The moment they noticed the gallon jug was missing, they got together and went to work on getting that door open. They pushed, pried, pulled, and kicked, but the door didn't open and the lock didn't budge. If you use the insert to get the appropriate tightness, I don't see a small child being able to jar it loose. If your kid is big enough to knock the lock loose, I'm thinking they are probably too old for childproofing and maybe a conversation about what they should and shouldn't get into would be prudent. I'm not a parent, but I'm a pretty logical person and that's just my two cents. Anyway, I wish we had gotten this lock a lot sooner. Our kitchen looks a lot classier without that stupid gallon jug on the floor.5AmazingI was so tired of brushing cat fur off the bottom of my clothes so I spent some time researching products that might keep my louvered closet doors closed. Found this and the first review that I read was by someone who bought it because she has cats. There are no instructions in the package. (I guess they think you're bright enough to figure it out yourself.) I found a YouTube that showed me the way to do it, so no problem. It even comes with a plastic "pointer" that hangs down so that those of us who are height-challenged can move the bar without getting a step ladder. Great product!5Mommy's Helper...Works for Dads Too!As simple as it is, this product has been one of those highly satisfying purchases I am glad I made every time I go to open the doors its used on. The lock is simple to install and use. It includes a dual sided adjustment bar that snaps on to the main bracket allowing this lock to be an excellent fit on a wide range of door thicknesses. The middle setting, achieved by using the smaller side of the adjuster makes for a good fit on my 1" thick door. The bracket without adjuster looks to fit up to about 1-3/8" and smaller doors can be accommodated by flipping the adjustment bar (see my attached picture). Once set to the right size (it's not super picky) it provides a solid lock that not only keeps our toddler out but is solid enough that I don't have concerns that it will break when an adult accidentally attempts the door. When I purchased the item, I was concerned about the longevity of the bar included to help slide it. What I didn't realize was this sits loose through a hole in the main bracket allowing you to easily flip the lock in the open or closed position with a simple flip of the wrist while also preventing any undue strain on any of the plastic. Finally, as a bonus, the clear plastic makes for an unobtrusive appearance that doesn't detract from our kitchen.5No more pinched fingers! And no children playing in my closet! No more pinched fingers! Not only can they not get my bi-fold closet doors open, but they can no longer shut them on their tiny hands! This product has helped to save my sanity. I looked and looked for something to lock these kinds of doors, and all I found were suggestions of sticking something in the track of the door the keep it from opening. That is difficult for me to reach, however, and was not a practical solution. When I found out about Mommy's Helper Slide-Lok Bi-Fold Door Locks, I was so happy. Someone else understood, and had made a product to solve the problems that occur when you mix small children and bi-fold doors! I bought one as soon as I could to test it out, and before I knew it I was buying a second to keep the kids from playing in my closet. It's such a simple, wonderful item. The handle makes it easy for me to reach and adjust the placement of the lock so I can open these doors easily, but my kids can not. Even a few adults have been a bit puzzled, trying to open the door only to find it would not move! I love it!5Simple Solution to a common problem This is one of the most simple inventions that helps a common issue. My toddler learned how to open the pantry bifold since we couldn't childproof it with everything else, and would get into things. This childproofed the door sooooo easily, doesn't get in our way, and is clear and not bothersome to the eye if you care about aesthetics - you wouldn't even notice it. My mom couldn't even get in to our pantry when she came over one day and I had to show her! 5The best solution for securing bifold closet doors, keeping little ones out. After researching a ton of options, these are the easiest to install and easiest to use on keeping closet doors locked and inaccessible to little ones. Avoid pinched fingers and keep kids out of closets (mine pull stuff out and make a mess). If your closet doors are thick or have a lot of coats of paint, they can be a little difficult to install and operate at first. They can wear away the paint a bit, but I think it's easier to touch up paint then patch up holes from latches.5HEAVEN SENTThese things are truly HEAVEN SENT. I was struggling with every single morning waking up to find my two toddlers had been in their closet ripping everything off the hangers. I was frantically searching for something, anything to help. After failing at DIY methods I had seen on Pinterest, I stumbled across this device and I m so thankful I did. Ever since we installed it the kids absolutely cannot get into their closet. It s ridiculously simple to install, you literally just slide it on the door and that s it. If you re struggling to keep your kiddos out of the closets, you NEED this.5
