Customer Reviews

Beautiful, sturdy and functional We purchased this sink last year when we remodeled our kitchen. It is exactly what we were looking for. It is sturdy and does not dent easily. I love the grates that are provided to sit at the bottom of the sink. They keep my pots and pans off the bottom from smelling and then also keep them from not scratching the bottom. We installed the deeper drain system drain with the removable cup which I like because it collects all the debris and food from the sink when you drain it.The large side of the sink holds a standard size cookie sheet with room to spare. It s interior width is 19 with a depth of 16 . The smaller side is big enough to hold larger stock pots with a width of 12.5 and a 16 depth. The height of the sink inside is 10 .I had a really hard time deciding it was ok to order a sink on amazon before seeing it. Because of this I made a short video clip to show you more about it because I love it so much! I hope it makes your decision easier than mine! 5Really happy with the sink I mounted it above the counter. Really happy with the sink. 5Looks great, but rusting after three weeks The sink looks great, but it is already rusting only after three weeks of installation! I've always had a stainless steel sink, and have never encountered anything like this, so this is extremely disappointing! Looking up remedies online! 2Beautiful sink, with some oversights by the manufacturer... My husband and I bought a fixer-upper a couple years ago after we got married, so we are pretty handy and decided to re-do our countertops and replace our sink and faucet this past weekend. We did a retrofit of our 36" cabinet to fit this 33" sink (our previous sink was a standard drop-in 1970s style at 33", and with the apron front on this one the full 36" Kraus sink would have fit, but looked cramped as it would be directly next to the dishwasher). The retrofit was surprisingly easy (we found a great Youtube tutorial for a similar sink by Kohler for ideas). We opted to leave the sink edge slightly higher (1/2") than our countertop, and are very happy with the look. We haven't used it much yet, as we finished late last night and need a part for the faucet, but I wanted to leave a detailed review on the things we've noticed from our work over this past weekend in case it helps someone in the future:Pros:- BEAUTIFUL sink, and the accessories we got when purchased as a set (grids, drains, etc.) are very nice and seem to be very good quality. Looks awesome with our brushed stainless appliances and fits right in.- Edges are great-looking all the way around (note that the back edge only goes down about 2", not the full height like the sides and front of the sink, but this was not a problem when installed).- Love the deep bowls and the sizes of each.- The sink was packaged securely in styrofoam that fit it very well, and it reached us in great condition. No crate as previous reviewers mentioned.- From our initial tests (have to finish the plumbing), it seems it will be relatively quiet when the water is running.- The rear-mount drains are great and gave us some space back in our cabinet for cleaning supplies - a welcome bonus!Cons / Things I hadn't realized from product info and other reviews:- Fingerprints show easily, but seem to be pretty easy to clean off as well.- NO INSTRUCTIONS! The 4-page leaflet was inaccurate (some drawings are correctly the 33" sink as marked, but interior shows 36" measurements instead?? Very strange. We got the correct one off Home Depot's website thankfully, but the one in the box was wrong!) The leaflet only shows some dimensional drawings and future care instructions, and just says to have it professionally installed. Um, okay.- NO hardware to secure the sink to the cabinet or anything else. We're figuring out how to do this ourselves, but thought it was very odd there is nothing included at all. We are using some basic bolts and washers to try and secure it, but it's a bit of a challenge due to the shape of the bottom of the sink -- very little to attach to!- The "cut out template" provided with the sink is a large piece of cardstock with rounded edges. Note that it is NOT the size of the full sink at all, but rather is only for under-mount installations and was therefore completely useless to us for over-mount or flush-mount installation types. The template makes no mention of the fact that it only fits the bowl sizes of the sink, and not the full measurements. No other templates were provided. We also felt this was a little strange, but the measurements and angles are very straightforward and we managed to cut our laminate countertops without too much trouble.Bottom line -- Very glad we bought this sink, and it absolutely seems worth the money. However, we wish the manufacturer had put a little more thought into their materials (besides the sink itself) -- definitely could have used at least some warning about the bad instructions, template and no hardware! I'm hoping that by writing this, some of the problems may be fixed in the future, or at least other buyers will know what they will get up front! 4Not "stainless" steel Sink is beautiful and comes with lots of great extras (which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1), but I'm having difficulty with the finish of the sink. Stainless steel should be "stainless," however, there are constantly tiny rust spots all over the bottom of this sink where water sits for longer periods of time. I've never had to dry out a stainless steel sink at the end of every day in order to keep it from rusting. I scrub and scrub only to have most of the rust come off, but not all. I just contacted Kraus to see if they can do anything about it, as I don't want to replace it now that it has already been installed underneath the new countertops. 2both are very good quality and even the grid protectors look identical in ... For those wondering what is the difference between Zuhne Prato 33 and the Kraus KHF200-33, I bought both just so I can see for myself. They looked identical to me, both are very good quality and even the grid protectors look identical in finish and pattern. I think they and others are made by the same factory with minor branding and other differentiators. I ended up keeping the Zuhne for a few good reasons. 1) although both are same 16 gauge commercial grade, the Zuhne is much heavier because of the thicker insulation. This is important because such a large sink tends to be noisier and I think the insulation makes it quieter. 2) Zuhne's strainer assembly is all metal (that is what came with mine) while the Kraus is partially plastic and my experience tells me plastic will fail sooner. I ended up installing a different basket assembly because contractor had the drain pipe coming out from the wall too low and not enough height to accommodate the very nice deep basket, unfortunately. Keep in mind this sink is 10 inch deep so make sure you got enough clearance for trap to connect to drain pipe. 3) Zuhne is about $100 less. The only reason for 4 star is because Zuhne is better value. I cannot comment about Kraus' further because I returned it in favor of Zuhne. 4So much bang for the buck! Amazing quality & value!! I ordered through Amazon warehouse and saved even more. Sink is great quality, and my contractor was super impressed with the price. He said he would expect a sink like that to be at least $800! It's deep enough for even the largest pots & pans, and makes dishes a joy to do! Highly recommended! 5The contractor who built and installed my cabinets asked me for details so he could recommend this sink to his other customers This sink is solid 16 gauge stainless steel. The contractor who built and installed my cabinets asked me for details so he could recommend this sink to his other customers. In the attached photo the back splash isn't finished, but you can see the installed farmhouse sink and Kraus faucet combo. Works well together. 5Very nice sink; excellent craftsmanship Very nice sink; excellent craftsmanship; easy to install and maintain. We believe it was a good and honest improvement. We did all the work ourselves including making the cherry and oak counter tops, and refinishing the kitchen cabinets including making and painting fifteen new doors. We had to re-plumb to accommodate the lower level of the disposal outflow but we did that all our selves too. Not bad for old folks in their late seventies. 5Great sink with one small (annoying) issue Things I love about this sink: (installed about 2 weeks ago)1. Size is great. I was concerned about the 36" size but it fits my space very well. Of course this is subjective depending on your kitchen counter space, so please be advised.2. Fit / finish is awesome. Quality looks and feels fantastic on this sink. The steel feels solid. And the noise dampeners underneath the sink work very well so it doesn't clang when you put/drop anything in the sink. The edges are very nicely done and clean.3. Value for the money is great. This is cheaper than the white farmhouse sinks. But this sink has a very different (i.e. modern) look to it. If you want the farmhouse look, get the white (fireclay??) sink.Things I wish were better:1. only one issue... the bottom of the pan isn't slanted enough for water/small debris to drain by itself. There is usually stuff left in the corners of the sink after you're done using it. So you have to get a faucet with a sprayer that can reach the sink corners to wash (i.e. chase) the stuff into the drain. A few of the other reviewers mentioned this as well. This isn't a huge issue, but rather an annoyance.Overall, great sink. Love it. 4
