    Parts don't fit together After waiting more than 18 months for my stepson to install this mirror, I decided to do it myself. I have arthritis in my hands and shoulders so it would be difficult and painful for me to install. I found I couldn't complete the first item of the instructions: to screw the rod into the mirror nut. The nut wasn't large enough to accommodate the rod. I checked to make sure none of the threads had been damaged while the mirror was sitting unattended, but thew threads were in good shape.Of course it's too late to return the mirror, so I'll just have to buy another. It won't be from Amazon because I don't trust the company that supplies this item to Amazon. 2seems very solid, and it works well seems very solid, and it works well., except that the top sliding plastic has slipped out of the metal bracing. it still works,but i can see that if will stop working once the plastic completely come out 3Mirror with expandable wall mount I LOVE THIS MIRROR!!Sender shipped it immediately. It works great! I love being able to work on the back of my hair while being able to see the back of my head in the mirror at the same time. I used to use my curling iron or flat iron, put it down, hold up a mirror to see how the back looks, put mirror down and pick up curling iron, use it, put it back down, and pick mirror back up. I've always wanted a mirror like this. Found them in a couple of stores, but they wanted $80 plus, and they didn't expand this far. It is very sturdy, and stays exactly in the position I put it in. Again, I LOVE THIS MIRROR! If I needed another one, or if I was going to buy one for a friend, I would buy this exact same one. 5BE CAREFUL OF THE MIRROR SCREW COMING LOOSE I like this mirror very much & have found it to be most helpful as I am lower-visioned & it is difficult for me to see clearly in my regular bathroom wall mirror. HOWEVER, I caution you to keep checking the screw mount that keeps the mirror in place. Yesterday I was pushing the mirror back toward the wall - gently as I normally do -and the mirror fell off & into my bathroom vanity counter - shattering it into numerous pieces!! I am NOT happy about this as there is NO warning in the directions about the fact that this could happen OR to keep checking to assure that the screw mount is secure. I will be calling the company tomorrow. HOPEfully I can get a replacement part - and NOT at some outrageous price!!! Just be forewarned!!! 4Useful Tool! Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I was in the middle of a large home DIY project so it took me 6 months before I installed it. The hardest part of the install was placing it in the perfect spot. Highly useful for those who have difficulty applying makeup without their glasses. Plus it is great for those who have limited space. The quality is good for the price point. The price of similar ones were way out of my budget. You must treat it gently if you want it to last so not recommended for use for young children or the likes. It wobbles a tiny bit when first adjusted but I'm pretty sure they all do. The look is very attractive and goes great in my bathroom. I would buy again. 4Excellent product, easy to install I do recommend this mirror. I bought it based on reviews but there is one thing to be aware of... when you open the package, be aware there are small nylon bushings that can fall out of the package unnoticed. I had this happen, wondered where the one was that went on the stem of the mirror and then stepped on it. And I did not see or hear it fall. I installed this on a bathroom wall but used a studfinder to locate a stud, and used my own wood screws to install. I wouldn't think that based on the heavy duty construction and weight of the mirror, that the drywall anchors would be the best way to go. The mirror finish is beautiful, the magnified 7x side is concave, which can lead to minor distortion of the image if you're far from the mirror. Overall, I would give this 5 stars, just watch when opening the package, and make sure all nylon bushings are in place prior to installation. I took another reviewer's advice and used loctite/thread glue on the threaded areas below the mirror itself - on the stem, and on the sides where the U-shaped piece connects to the sides of the mirror. Everyone in our family has used this already and I find it very convenient with the accordian type extension. 5Mirror Falling Off--Accident waiting to happen. My husband has purchased three of these mirrors and I one. The arms have minimal thread to secure the mirror. When you use the mirror you loosen its hold to the base. Three mirrors have fallen/broke thus far. The last one was totally missing the tiny screw--not that it gave more hold. 1Rusted quickly After being on the wall in the bathroom for less then 6 months, with no direct contact with water, just steam from the shower, it started showing rust spots. Now after a year of or so the entire thing is covered. 1Received wrong arm extension...disappointed. Purchased this mirror for my 12 year old disabled daughter who also happens to be vision impaired. She was very excited to finally be able to see while brushing her teeth and washing her face etc. Installation was a breeze, and the mirror itself is nice too. Unfortunately I ordered the 20 inch extension and was sent the 13.5 inch extension...didn't even think to check it before installation. So now unfortunately we are stuck with it and I am very displeased that I was sent the wrong size. 1Wonderful mirror with extendable arm. I love this mirror. I recently went on a trip to Ireland and stayed one night in a castle. It was super fancy and the bathroom had a mirror like this I came right home and looked at my ole stand-by, Amazon.com and ordered one. It's wonderful to be able to put on my eye makeup up close and hands free. My husband installed it in our bathroom at the perfect height and I can bring it right up to my face and then push it back against the wall and out of the way. The mirror has a plain mirror on one side and a seven times magnification on the reverse. I find the seven magnification to be perfect you can see what you're doing without scaring yourself! The quality of the mirror and the extension are top notch. I couldn't be happier with this mirror. 5
