Perfect for just about any use needing a skimmer! These strainers are exactly what I have been looking for. I just wanted something sturdy and that would last. When I saw these come up on Deal of the day, I have to get them. I received them yesterday and have already used them. I make ravioli for dinner last night and used the middle size to get the ravioli out and it was the perfect size. Very nice looking and easy to clean also made very well. 5Excellent food skimmer Had the product for about two weeks now. I used them to fish cream cheese wontons and home-made thick cut french fries out of the hot oil. They are made sturdy enough to handle that job easily and the medium and large skimmers are just the right size for my pot. Not sure how well it could handle large drumsticks and I would not use them for large fried chicken breasts, but you should probably be using tongs for anything that heavy anyway. As the description says, these are for light items. The only thing that may not work for some people, is that if you like to reuse your oil a few times, these skimmers allow a lot of particles to pass through. This makes it very easy to drain your food, which I love, but you will still need to strain your oil for reuse depending on what you are frying. 5Very useful during frying I received a damaged product and therefore cannot give a higher rating. The hardware is rather light however it does the job. From the photos added, you can clearly see a detachment in the weaving on the basket. This concerns me as I don't want the loose piece breaking off into my food during use. The other baskets were fine however, I will have to trash the broken one. This is very disappointing. 3Happy Frying Husband My sweet husband loves to break out the turkey fryer a few times a year. When he does, he deep fries just about anything not moving because the oil's hot and "you might as well". (Same opinion when the grill's fired up---the coals are hot, and "you might as well"). He has lamented that it's very hard to get french fries out of the turkey fryer with my strainer that works perfectly in the house. So these are for him as part of his Christmas, and I know he'll love them, and I know he'll use them for everything from fries to hush puppies to nuggets, to okra, to squash, to just about anything not nailed down in the kitchen or marked for a specific recipe. 5Nice, attractive skimmers Nice looking skimmers and light weight. I like stainless steel. I do have a couple bamboo handle skimmers and like them as well, but the design of these is nice and fresh. I hand wash many of my kitchen items, so I don't know that rust mentioned in other reviews would be an issue for me. But I would suggest that if you use a dishwasher to take them out and hand dry after the rinse cycle, if that's a concern for you. I don't plan on lifting a turkey with them so the light weight is fine. I find the design attractive and have them in a utensil holder with other items of mine. 5Decent These skimmers very big so be careful the measurements are only for the length and they do not mention a diameter. The small one is the most regular purpose size, which could fit about 3 dumplings or two medium sized chicken wings. The large one could be used for an industrial deep fryer.The handles seem like they're made of a cheap flimsy alloy, but they stay cool after the skimmer is sitting in hot oil for a while so it works well. I have not tried to pick up anything of significant weight to see if they can handle it, but the wire appears to be put together well enough. Overall, it's a good price for 3, but I would suggest spending the extra money to buy the size you need rather than a set unless you really want matching handles. 4You can buy the Hamburger buns about anywhere for less than a buck and just make you'r own Mac and cheese or coleslaw. I bought a great pressure cooker off of this site and you can make it low pressure if you are like me and it takes 3 hour's to make 15 beans with seasonings. Just on the regular setting and it is like you made the best bean's you ever have and if you want to can buy the masher by hand I bought off of here & make you'r own re fried without a drop of oil. I use these bean's in most of my dishes & straining them with these awesome strainers are great. Plus if ya do not want to pay 327 bucks for Williamsons BBQ. I buy a jar at the store for about three dollars & add less than a forth of cup of brown sugar and eye a little Ketchup, little mustard and Worcestershire sauce & strain the jar of williamsons BBQ & mine comes out better than their's for less than ten buck's for a meal with vegies & taters. It's a Southern thing & my men love to eat. 4A must have in every kitchen. Love these. They do the job they were exactly designed to do. A great workman never blames his tools but with the right tools in the kitchen you don't have to. A well stocked kitchen can mean the difference between a good dish and a great dish. 5Great bang for the buck - good quality and excellent value! I have been looking for a larger size skimmer to remove crab after cooking. I was a bit skeptical based on the price for three different sized skimmers but figured I'd give these a try. They are fantastic - seem to be of good quality - certainly well built. The crabs can be upwards of 2 lbs and the larger skimmer handled this easily. One pass through the dishwasher and no worse for the wear.Obviously they are light weight - the wire in the basket part is a lighter gauge. The handles feel sturdy but not heavy. You don't get something for nothing so if your expecting ultra high end here you'll be disappointed. But they work well and nobody will know the bargain you got.Time will tell but if they last but even they go a year well worth the money. I think they will last allot longer. Would buy these again if I need more. 5Not too great Very flimsy and not well made. Not very durable for a professional kitchen. Might be alright for occasional household use as long as you are not lifting anything of substantial size like blanching large amounts of vegetables. Extremely disappointed. 1
