Customer Reviews

Works Great! Works great! I have been using this almost every weekend for a year and it has held up perfectly. Very easy to use, just add water and cook. You'll get the hang of how done you prefer your eggs, I prefer a runny yolk, which means the top should not be solid/have some movement, then my eggs are done.Easy to clean up also, the teflon hasn't deteriorated at all. Definitely recommend for poached eggs, works great.Update: Bought a second one of these for the fifth wheel. My wife and I are still eating eggs and grits for breakfast almost every weekend, can't live without this! 5GRRRRREAT!After the USPS finally decided to deliver this product, it is great. The failed delivery was NOT the fault of the shipper..it was with the USPS...but I have it and all is well. IT WAS DEFINATELY WORTH THE WAIT! This is the greatest egg poacher of all time in my opinion. It has 6 cups..but does 2 or 3 with the same perfection as it does 6. It is 18/10 stainless, and quite attractive....plus it works wonderful on my INDUCTION cook top. With this 18/10 stainless, and induction......it produces a perfect poached egg for me. Everyone is different, but a couple of try's and now I have it down to the second. The non stick cups are fabulous...the eggs come right out, in perfection condition. I simply crack 3 eggs....in the cups....boil the water, (which on induction and this 18/10 stainless...takes about 90 seconds) set the timer for 4 minutes and 47 seconds...WALAH....PERFECT POACHED EGGS....DONE MY WAY! I love this thing...its great....the manufacturer should be complimented for producing something of this quality for a reasonable price. To quote the Tiger: IT'S GRRRREAT !5Dont buy, buy another brandOkay I wilk not try to be bias as i do understand that some products can come with issues. Ill consider my self the unlucky customer. First if all it is not a non stick i literally threw away 6 eggs because they all were stuck and came out looking deformed and in pieces. Also the cups are so small that if you use large eggs it can and will over flow. I am delicate with my cookware soo i have soft sponge and thats what i like to use so i did. The not stick (black part) literally scraped off as i was trying to remove the residue of the eggs that stuck to the cups.1Most Excellent Product!!! Very Satisfied!!!This makes perfect poached eggs! The eggs are perfect every time we use it. We used a sauce pan for soft boiled eggs but a lot of times the eggs are overcooked because you can only guess at the cooking time. The size of eggs are different. Medium, large or extra large eggs have different cooking times. Using this pan we can determine the consistency of the inside of the egg. We press on the egg slightly with a fork to determine the softness or hardness of the egg as it is cooking. Easy to clean the cups. Easy storage! I would highly recommend the product!5A fine insturment for poached eggs Been looking for an egg poaching something to replace what we have been using for 15 years. Tried single cups, silicone things, pots of boiling water but nothing has made better eggs than this pan. Was going for the one that cooks 4 eggs but we always have more than 2 people for breakfast on Sundays. 6 eggs here and ready in minutes and easy to cook ( Really Easy ) suggest follow the directions 5Perfect egg pan Just bought this for a gift for my husband and he loves it. Hes been looking for the perfect pan for a while and finally decided on this one. You get the perfect egg each time. Very easy to use, very easy to clean and love that you can remove each egg separate. I like mine cooked a little more than his so each egg being independent is great option 5Wonderful! Almost like I designed it myself!I'm pretty picky about what I buy, and am more than happy with my decision here. This poacher was designed with real thought. All parts are above-standard durability, without being excessively heavy. It has a nice feel with a sturdy weight. The glass lid is excellent to see your eggs cook, and the vent in the lid helps to reduce (not eliminate, but reduce) the steam sweat that cheaper poachers cause to drop water into your cooking eggs. The cups are very impressive in their construction! Amply heavy stainless steel, coated inside the cooking cup with thick teflon, and the suspender rings are strongly attached all the way around, as well as impressively heavy material to prevent bending over time as you pick them up. The pan could be a little thicker, just to make me smile more, but it's more than sturdy for its purpose. You won't want to use it for any purpose other than poaching, but is certainly heavier than the average poaching pan you'd find at higher prices. It's thick and heavy enough to comfortably use to heat sauce, but you certainly wouldn't fry or seer anything in it. The only thing that I would change if I designed this myself would be making the pan thick and heavy enough to have it usable as a frying pan. I'd happily pay $10 more than my purchase price for that. Even with that said, the pan as-is is still heavier and more durable than low-end frying pans that you'd find at discount stores.5Great high quality product with 1 annoying flawMy parents had an egg poacher similar to this that I loved growing up. I was excited to get it since we also got a double broiler for hollandaise sauce for eggs benedict. The egg poacher works fine, but the cup handles are actually detached, and are a separate ring that the cup sits in. They are kind of hard to grab a hold of due to this and the cup slides around and tilts to one side or the other. It can make getting the eggs out kind of hard and I tend to play hot potato with the cup. The cups are non stick, but I still put a bit of butter in them anyways. The eggs slide right out when they are done. The cups are very light and fly around in the dishwasher unless you put something like the glass lid on top of them. I love the glass lid! It makes it very easy to tell when the eggs are done, and overall this feels like a very high quality product. Great value for the price! The cup handles are the only issue I have.4Yes, it works on induction stove.Just got it today and tested it out. For those wondering about it working on an induction stove, I first tested it with a magnet which didn't stick so I was doubtful that those that said it worked understood what an induction burner is. But yes, it did heat up very quickly on the induction burner. I'm not sure the science of wh this did heat up when I have other 18/10 stainless steel pans that did not work on it. I tried to google some explainations but didn't find a solid answer, but, one did talk about quality of 18/10 stainless steel and that the lower quality items will work more than high quality. This may be the case because contrary to what some people have posted, this is NOT a heavy bottomed pan. (My heavy bottomed 18/10 stainless steel pan did not work on the induction burner). So there you go, this egg poacher did work an induction burner.I love poached eggs. I've had a nice 4-cup pan for a long time but there's three of us which usually entails me making my 4 serving them to my wife and son then making my two eggs. It's nice to be able to cook six at one time.I have read some questions about if the cups have holes and if the water envelopes the egg as traditional poached eggs are made with dropping them directly in the boiling water. This is an egg poaching pan and the eggs are poached through steam. You put some water in the pan beneath the cups. It works perfectly. I have read some comments about eggs sticking to the cup. That was not the case with me. Eggs just slid right out. I use vegetable spray the way most people do it in real life - spray until you have a light coating covering the surface. (Not the 1/3 second fraction of a spritz the can says so they can keep the calorie count to zero or whatever)Yes it takes a little figuring out how to initially get the cups into those handle rings. You just got to push the rings toward the top of the cup. What I really like about this pan are the flat bottomed cups. My other pan hand round bottomed cups and I would have to gingerly get the hot cup out and try to hold it while I took a mini rubber spatul out to help release the egg and my fingers got hot quickly. This model has a small center knob which you can use to lift all the cups at once then put it on a flat surface, the cup holder goes down to the surface resulting in the cups essentially 'rising' up. A few seconds and the cup handles are cool enough to touch.I really like it but my only concern is how cheap the bottom of the pan feels which makes me wonder about its longevity. The bottom is not perceptibly thicker than the sides.Tips:Regarding people who commented on not having information about how long to cook eggs for. People like their eggs done differently and it depends on the level of heat you are using. I like my poached eggs with the white set and the yolk runny. If this is how you like your eggs, just keep an eye on your eggs once it starts turning white. When it looks all white, give the pan a little juggle. The outer part should be set but the white part in the middle should slightly jiggle like Jell-O then lift the cups together out of the pan.If you want to make large batches for eggs Benedict for a larger group, as soon as the eggs are how you want them, Put them in iced water right away to keep them from cooking any further. they will keep for a couple days in the water. You can poach your eggs in batches the night before. When you are ready to heat them, boil water in a pot, heat the eggs in boiling water for one minute, then use a slotted spoon to fish them out quickly placing the slotted spoon with the egg against a paper towel (keeping the egg in the spoon) so the paper towel (or regular clean towel) wicks the water from the egg. Then it's good to go. This reheating can be done in batches too but it's quicker to reheat them and get a large number done at about the same time than cooking them from the start in batches. If you like egg salad. Use the poacher to cook your eggs through. Poke the middle with a knif if you are not sure if the yolk has hardened. No need to deal with hard boiling an egg in the shell then having to fuss with pealing them.I also use it to hard boil and slice them for salads. Maybe not is pretty ass an oval looking sliced egg but still looks good and again, don't have to worry about peeling eggs.Hope this info is helpful to someone. I left off a star because the bottom of the pan is quite thin from what I expected.4Not a great designI ordered this because I m going on a weekend trip and I plan on making eggs Benedict for a crowd. I decided to give it a test tonight just to make sure I ve got the process down. After one use, I m not a big fan of the design. First off, the non-stick cups aren t very non-stick. I added butter to each cup (I m not a fan of PAM or other cooking sprays) prior to cracking the egg and I still needed to very carefully scrape the egg out of the cup. The egg still stuck and was actually relatively difficult even to wash out. Secondly, in order for the lid to sit flush on the pan, the little handles for the cups need to be positioned just right around the lifting handle which makes it difficult to grab. Not the best design in my opinion.2Great poacher!I wanted to address some of the complaints in other reviews.1. Lid Doesn t Fit Well . Turn the handles of the individual cups towards the hole in the tray. The lip faces down. The lid will fit.2. Non-stick Issue . Take a small baking spatula and go around a portion of the egg. It will slide out. Also use oil or butter to begin with.3. Cups are hard to remove . See picture in my review. Lift the tray by the handle and place on surface of stove. The cups will pop up, and they re easy to remove.5HUGE DESIGN FLAWThe wire holders for the cups are not permanently attached to the cups. The cups fall out of the wire cup-holders when trying to remove the eggs from the cups. So, now you have CUPS AND EGGS on your plate ... not very safe nor practical. If you want the cups (with the eggs in them) to fall out of the wire holders and onto your plate, that's exactly what you will get with this egg poacher. In all other regards, this egg poacher is heavy, very well made, and offers the 6-egg capacity which most poachers don't offer. It's obvious that the designer has never used and egg poacher, and has no knowledge of nor any experience with cooking. Plus, a small bit of common sense could have prevented the designer and all other decision-makers from making such a blunder !1Lid!I bought this pan according to the reviews. The lid is to small to fit over the egg pans by 3/8 of an inch. This is very disappointing. I am sending it back!!!!!!!!! If they get this problem solved I may buy it again.1
