Good, Not Great
Have been using these for about 7 months. I got the blue color which is a purplish blue, not a cobalt blue. I wash them in extra hot water on the sanitary cycle and dry hot.Pros: I like the size (24 x 16) after shrinking and the utilitarian look of the towel. They hold up to normal kitchen use (I am not careful with them) and heavy duty washing. No sewing has come out. The hanging loop makes the towel handy for drying hands. They have a nice herringbone weave and are not too thick or too thin. For the price I paid, I feel I got my money's worth.Cons: They wrinkle along the long edges more than other similar kitchen towels and they are not as easy to fold for that reason. They do not absorb water as quickly or easily as my other similar kitchen towels so I do not prefer them for drying except as a hanging towel for drying hands. On 3 out of 12 towels the hanging loop has frayed on one edge where it was not sewn in well enough, though none have pulled all the way out (1 is nearly out. Some, not a majority, of the towels are not square on the ends. They are good, not great, and I did find some towels that I like better at my local bi mart. Although I will keep using these, I will not likely buy more.
3Towels that don't absorb water well..?
I wish I could say: LOVE IT! But unfortunately these towels are a waste of money. There's really two major issues with them:1) They don't absorb water very well - even after several washes.2) The blue stripes in the middle look gorgeous online, but in person they are definitely a more purple blue. Maybe this won't bother most people, but I care about these little tiny details. Now I could live with the off colored stripes, but we have towels in the kitchen for a reason - to clean up messes, dry dishes, knifes and pots - which they do a terrible job at.I'm giving them two stars, because the quality itself was fine and shrinkage after washing in extra hot water with steam was very minimal.
2Very pleased
These towels are absolutely wonderful. My husband used to love the Ikea towels with the Scandinavian design, but their quality has gone waaaay down hill, and the weave is quite open and cheap. I bought these for him after reading a lot of reviews here at amazon. It was a great choice. These towels are thick and very absorbent. They are a great choice and make a perfect kitchen towel.
5Good value for 12 cotton towels.
Unlike others here, I'm not embroidering them or making fancy things with them. We have an English cottage style house and I go through kitchen towels almost every day (I cook a lot), so I wanted an inexpensive but quality towel that was cute, but also could stand a lot of washing up and came with several in a pack. These fit the bill and I'm very happy.Kitchen towels get so gross and germ/sticky laden in our kitchen, so I throw them in the wash basket about every day. With this pack and my old towels, I definitely can get through a full week in the kitchen with some to spare. Once washed, they soften delightfully, and I like the cotton (vs the terry) as a way to sort of 'scrape' my hands clean. I also have terry cloth kitchen towels still, and those are better for absorbing spills, but for baking/cooking/wiping/drying hands, I've been very happy with this set. They will stain (what kitchen towels won't if you're actually using them?!) but I just throw them in the wash with baking soda and they come out fresh. Obviously, if you wipe of coffee or red wine, you're going to have to go the extra mile to try and get a stain out, but as this was a utilitarian purchase for me, I'm fine with it.Overall: good construction, great value for 12 towels, cute cottage/farmhouse style flour sack design, quality cotton fabric, not for big spills, fine for regular hand drying/cooking messes.
5Generous size, nice quality, great price!
This time last year was the first time I purchased kitchen towels from Amazon. I was torn between Cotton Craft and another brand, and ultimately decided to purchase the other brand. I wasn't impressed with the other brand but figured, eh, they're kitchen towels who cares? But the other towels didn't hold up very well (the only thing they were used for was hand/dish drying -- no heavy duty cleaning -- so they should have held up better than they did) and thus here I am shopping for kitchen towels again. This time I decided to purchase Cotton Craft and WOW I'm glad that I did! They are much thicker and larger than the other towels, have much better hems and overall seem to be fabulous quality! Wish I would have went with Cotton Craft from the start. I highly recommend these towels!
5Great dish drying, lint free towels!
Very nice towels for dish drying. Washed first, they are thick and nowhere near as wrinkled as previous ones. ( pic is straight out of dryer ) My new go to towel! No lint on glassware! I'm picky about my kitchen towels.
5Great thinner kitchen linens
If you use thin towels in the lid of your rice pot, these will work well. They are wonderful dish towels and I really love them. I saved half to give as a gift OR pull out and use when my other half gets too dingy and over washed and always happens with time. They have washed very well and I am very pleased with this purchase. I don't use them as much for drying my hands, but I don't have a dish rack (my primary handwashing is lunchbox storage containers), so I lay one on the counter for dishes or use them in cooking rice. They are PERFECT. If you have ever used IKEA red & white thin kitchen towels, these are just a touch thicker than those.
5Very sturdy for my busy kitchen
I'm really puzzled at the washing instructions. Cool, gentle wash, no bleach... for kitchen towels? That's nuts. I go through a lot of towels and cloths in my custom baking kitchen, and everything gets washed with bleach in warm water. Depending on how these come out of the wash, and how long they last, will determine if I buy more of them or not. They are a very nice size and look good, so I hope they hold out.Edit: After the first week of using these, I suspect the manufacturer was being overly cautious with the laundry instructions. I pre washed them as instructed, with plain soap. All seams held and there was no unusual amount of lint in the dryer. These towels then went through the intense use I give all the things in my kitchen for a week, and were laundered again. All are intact, and no more lint than expected. I think these will do well for a long time. I'd suggest using no more than the minimum amount of bleach per load, simply because that accelerates the rate of wear on anything washed that way.Edit - October 16, 2016. I'm back to order more of these towels. They have endured heavy use and laundering far better than the cheaper blue strip kind I bought earlier. The blue stripes have all been demoted to be hand towels in the basement bathroom.Edit - Sept. 03, 2017 Never did order any more of these towels. The original ones are still looking perfect and doing a good job. My towel drawers are too full to fit in one more item!
5Time to Recommend.
I like the look of these towels, albeit they are huge! They are bigger than the hand towels in our bathroom! Major flaw though is that they lack absorbency! When I am trying to dry anything with them, I have to hold it on the item for many seconds to get it to absorb anything at all. Not thrilled about these two problems, but it is what it is I guess. Do not recommend at all. These would not even work for rags!UPDATE: 3-7-2018 I had to come back and up my rating on these. After many washes now, these are much better with absorbing which makes them better dish towels. I've gotten use to the larger size and I would recommend them.
5Absorbent and thick
These are really nice towels. Much thicker than the flour sack towels I have been buying at Walmart. They are highly absorbent and wick away moisture from hands or dishes very well. I ordered a second pack to replace all my kitchen towels. I also got them on sale which was a bonus.
