The water always comes out incredibly crisp and cold or steaming hot. The unit does make a little noise but it is not enough to really be noticeable. The only thing I don't like about coolers like this is the way you have to put the water on the cooler. I am strong and precise but I still get some water on the walls and the unit. Not a lot but enough to know that part is annoying at best and a little messy. However, I knew that going into it. I would absolutely recommend this water cooler/dispenser to anyone if you want an affordable way to keep fresh water both hot and cold in your house. 5Good water coolerI recommend this cooler. It gets cold instantly, to a goood drinking temperature, the hot is just the right temperature for tea. Some machines don't get hot enough, this one does. The fit and finish is great. It looks good, the colors are good, well put together and attractive. I have nothing negative to say about this cooler/heater. 5The Avalon is a very good water coolerThe Avalon is a very good water cooler; however, I have two minor complaints: 1) the water does not come out as fast as expected, and 2) the spigot is recessed into the cooler which makes it harder to fill my large S'well bottle. Otherwise, I'm happy with the purchase. 4I would not recommend buying this product as it may leak like mine did and cause major water damage to you house.I liked the product right until it started leaking out of the hot water dispenser about 4 months after I bought it. There does not appear to be any manufacturer contact information provided at all with this product, so I have no way of knowing how to get it repaired or replaced. 1Very good purchase!!!!I DID NOT receive this product at a discounted rate. After eleven years of renting units from a water company I decided to get a better unit for my house. I go through about 15 gallons of water a month or three 5 gallon jugs and the rentals would never be hot or cold enough. This unit came out of the box easily and was simple to put into place. It is taller than my previous rental units but it has the spike to ensure that there is no spillage and it is sanitary. When you first put the jug on the water will drop about 1/4 of the way down and the instructions recommend draining out 1 liter of water through the hot spicket before first use. Once done, the water flows freely and I really like the fact that I can just put the water under the faucet and can push the glass back to fill it up rather than having to hold the handle down. I am pleased with the product, it nestles nicely in the corner of the kitchen, has a sleek look and is a welcomed addition to the kitchen. 5Leaks like crazy, buyer beware.Aside from sending a damaged unit, then the replacement unit being the wrong color, this water cooler leaks like crazy around the top rim. Not always, just sometimes. Periodically I get to my office to find a massive pool of water on the floor. Other times, it works great. I unfortunately can't send this back because I tossed the box. I would advise you to steer clear entirely. I've essentially just lit money on fire because this will have to go in the garbage soon. 1Top Loading water coolerThis is my 3rd home water cooler. After 2 weeks of heavy usage ( 2- 6 gallon containers) I would say this is an excellent product. The water flow is much faster than my previous Avanti Unit which recently broke down and started leaking. The temperature if much colder than my previous coolers and I am able to poor several large glasses of water without worry about them not being as cold as the previous poured glass. I am also able to stand under the spout larger mugs and tall glasses which I could not with my previous coolers without slanting them.The hot water has also been working very well. My wife and I drink tea often a night and we are both able to fill our large mugs with piping hot water.The unit does not have storage underneath for cups or tea bags. But I think it makes up for that by providing plenty of cold and hot water..I have read plenty of reviews on and off of Amazon before making this purchase due to the frustration of already burning through 2 other water coolers. I have not experienced any of the negatives as presented by other reviewers. 5Outstanding water coolers (2) that do NOT leak...I purchased two of these coolers and after a year of heavy use BOTH of them are still operating flawlessly. Units are quiet, hot water comes out hot, cold water comes out cold, outgoing water flow is very good, exterior finish is SUPER easy to clean, they ship these out extremely well packaged and the power cord is really long. The design, color and push operation of the two water dispensing areas (hot/cold) not only look great but operate perfect and no other cooler out there has this push to drink design. I went to Costco, Walmart, Sams Club and other stores but nothing even came close to looking as nice as this cooler and at only $150.00/each it's a bargin. It's made in China. I'm one of the millions of Caucasians who proudly buy foreign products without whining about why it's not made in America...LOL. Thank you Avalon, Amazon and Chinese workers for giving us this 5 Star product :)These units are intended to be used with bottles that have the blue spill-proof center cap (see picture I posted). Most of the 1 star reviewers on here whining about leaking problems are from people who are NOT using spill-proof bottles. They just take the whole water bottle cap off and dump it in the water holding area. Of course it's going to leak. Although the instructions don't state that you must use spill-proof bottles...it's common sense because the top of the cooler comes with the built in spill-proof bottle mechanism (plastic rod sticking up). 5Quietly doing it's jobThis thing is a silent workhorse. You know that a product is good when it fades into the background of your environment and just works. This cooler silently works away to give you piping hot water on demand as well as some of the coldest water I've had. The minimal footprint makes it a great addition to a small space while still giving you all the convenience of a larger machine. The safety switch on the hot water prevents little hands from getting scalded if used in a home or daycare. While the unit provides an anchor bracket on the back to fasten it to the floor, I found that the unit is solid enough to place on low pile carpet and still be quite sturdy. If you are looking for the most bang for your buck, this is the unit for you. And no...I was not paid or given a discount for this review. I just like giving a product the accolades it deserves if it earns it. 5Died fast, can't find the company to helpBought in March, it died by September, blowing out the fuses as it did so. I cannot find customer service info for the company to see if it's covered.Nice aesthetically, but I guess it was my mistake to trust price & reviews. Functioned great until it's early demise.**Update February*** - Amazon support led me to the manufacturer for assistance. They asked some questions and are sending out a replacement. I've updated this review and rating to reflect the improvement. 3
